Writing with Labels

We learned that labeling is part of writing. A label gives the reader information about the picture. We labeled Mrs. Urban!

Mrs. Urban gave us a piece of foil and we had to design a boat that would hold pennies. We talked about different kinds of boats before we began our designs. There were all kinds of boats...large, small, flat, and some with deep sides! Congratulations to Kyra!! Her boat held the most pennies before it sank.

Sink and Float

In Science, we are learning about things that sink and float.

Ee Day!

We made "e" chicks with Mrs. Urban.

We made elephant puppets with Mrs. Hendricks.

We read about Elmer who is a patchwork elephant.

Learning vowel sounds is difficult. The vowels are "a, e, i, o, u and sometimes y." We have learned that vowels make two sounds and every word has a vowel. We think of the pictures egg and eagle when we are making the sounds for Ee!
