Welcome to Hopkins Elementary! I have lots fun and exciting things planned for the upcoming year! We had a great first day. We had "magic playdough" which predicted if we were going to have a great year or not! I am happy to say that it's going to be a great year for ALL of us! Please make sure you check back frequently to see the fun things we are doing in our classroom.

Our Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch- Thanks Mrs. Ramirez for sharing your pictures!

Nelson can't wait to get to the pumpkin patch.

"Are we there yet?"

We are excited about our ride out to pick pumpkins.

We had lots to choose from!

Tiffany and Mom enjoyed their time together.

What a silly group of farm animals!

Kindergarten memories.

The yellow flower is part of the pumpkin's life cycle.

Neveah and Jasmine were a little chilly on the ride out to the patch.

Pumpkin to Jack-O-Lantern

We used our 5 senses when we carved our pumpkin.
Sight- orange, round, yellow.
Smell- Yuck
Sound-scraping the inside, the knife going in and out
Touch-wet, slimy, gooey, smooth, bumpy, cold
Taste-roasted pumpkin seeds, salty, delicious

We voted on the type of face we wanted on our jack-o-lantern.  A funny face won!

It was fun to do math activities with our pumpkin.  We also toasted the seeds!  They were delicious!
