Welcome to Hopkins Elementary! I have lots fun and exciting things planned for the upcoming year! We had a great first day. We had "magic playdough" which predicted if we were going to have a great year or not! I am happy to say that it's going to be a great year for ALL of us! Please make sure you check back frequently to see the fun things we are doing in our classroom.

A Chair For My Mother

We have been learning about "needs and wants."  In this book, a little girl and her family save their money in order
to buy the mother a nice, comfortable chair.  The mother works very hard so she can take care of her family.  The girl
thinks her mother "needs" a new chair so she can rest when she gets home from work.

We were asked to make a chair.  We could only use toothpicks and gumdrops!  Mrs. Urban
would not help us with this activity.  We designed our chairs and made changes when things
didn't work!  It was hard, but we did it!

James is proud of his chair!
